About Course

The Care-Specific French Extension is a practical language add-on designed for learners working in care, support, and service environments.

This course develops functional A1-level French for everyday workplace interaction, helping learners communicate politely and confidently in care-related contexts.

⚠️ This is language training only.
It does not provide medical, clinical, or professional care instruction.

What Will You Learn?

Course Content

Polite Care Communication
In a care environment, "how" you speak is just as important as "what" you say. This module focuses on the tonality of respect and the use of "Softening Phrases" to create a calm atmosphere for service users.

Basic Care Actions (Language Only)
This module teaches language only — not care techniques. Learners practise vocabulary used in simple assistance situations such as helping, waiting, sitting, standing, and offering support. Wellbeing & Comfort Language
Learners develop the ability to ask basic wellbeing questions and respond reassuringly. Focus areas include: Asking if someone is okay Offering help Using calm and supportive language Speaking gently and clearly Practice includes tone development and question-and-answer drills.

Workplace Communication
This module introduces essential French for communicating with supervisors and colleagues. Learners practise: Reporting a simple issue Asking for clarification Requesting help professionally Saying “I don’t understand” politely Scenario-based speaking exercises strengthen confidence.

Daily Routines & Requests
Learners practise vocabulary related to time and daily schedules. They develop the ability to: Discuss simple routines Respond to requests Use polite timing language such as “now,” “later,” and “tomorrow” Activities include simple schedule conversations and practical response practice.

Review & Speaking Confidence
This final module consolidates all vocabulary and focuses on fluency over perfection. Learners complete guided speaking tasks including: Greeting a service user Asking about wellbeing Responding to a request Speaking to a supervisor politely
