Autism & Learning Disability Awareness helps learners understand how autism and learning disabilities affect communication, behaviour, and daily experiences.

The course focuses on respectful, person-centred support and practical awareness to help learners interact appropriately, reduce distress, and promote inclusion.

Learners develop the knowledge needed to support individuals safely, respectfully, and confidently in care, workplace, and community environments.

Understanding Autism and Learning Disability
This module introduces autism and learning disabilities and corrects common myths and misunderstandings. Key Topics: Definition of autism Autism as a spectrum What learning disability means Differences between autism and learning disability Common misconceptions and stereotypes Learners understand that autism affects how a person experiences the world, communicates, and processes information.

This module explains how communication may differ and how to respond effectively. Sensory Sensitivity and Behaviour Understanding
This module explores sensory processing differences and how they affect behaviour.
